Poderosa (“powerful” in Spanish) is a well-build terminal emulator that is able to handle Telnet, SSH, FTP, and CYGWIN connections.
The fact that Poderosa is open-source means that it is under constant development. Each new version that is released comes with many improvements and fixes. I consider this particular program to be an efficient alternative to programs like Putty or TeraTerm, which are more popular.
Version 4.3.8 of Poderosa is still in its beta stage. Yet it comes with many new features and improvements in functionality. Also, some changes of the graphical user-interface were made. Users are now allowed to use a darkened color for the background and make various settings for this option.
A minor flaw of Poderosa is that users need in install Cygwin separately when using Cygwin shell.
With the help of Poderosa, I was able to easily create a SSH2 connection to a host of my own. I was pleasantly impressed by the tools provided by Poderosa and I strongly recommend it.
